Alter K has always considered music as a global phenomenon, enabling us to work with internationally renowned artists from an early stage and place their music throughout the world.
Anticipating trends, deciphering productions, understanding but also advising during the creative process or guiding development strategies while respecting the DNA of each project.
In addition to digging, curation, and support, we also promote and push our partners. For the music to reach the right people (agencies, directors, editors, music supervisors... but also partners such as our sub-publishers or our network of brokers), the creative team is responsible for the daily promotion of the catalog.
Relying on an experienced artistic direction while working closely with the legal department, the creative team's mission is to enhance the music in the catalog in line with the client's needs by taking into account their extra-artistic constraints (deadlines, budget, ownership/control certification, the scope of the rights requested, etc.).
On top of A&R and pitching, one of the keys to success in making a sync. is to supervise everything for each licensed track until the very last step of contracting/invoicing.
Our role is to ensure the rights-holders (whether relating to the master or publishing side) have approved the scope/budget for each project. Our licensing team is made of professionals with technical and legal skills, dedicated to making everything happen clean and fast, whether for a TV ad, video games, a live-streamed fashion show, a TV series, or a movie...
Negotiating simultaneously with our clients and right-holders to have everyone on the same page, right on time, and make a successful placement. One of the key factors is meeting our clients’ critical deadlines. Since a significant part of Alter K's business is generated in the US (especially in California), we are making it a pride to be ready to respond to our clients on a 24/7 basis. Either through our team in Paris (France), or our office in New York (USA), a professional will be available to wrap up deals and fulfill our clients’ needs.
For this we can rely on a responsive and experienced team based in Paris France, but also in NYC USA, to secure all the deals and fulfill our clients expectations.

The key to a successful synchro placement is to master the process up to the contractualization with for each title, the agreement of all the master and edition rights holders.
The licensing team's objective is to finalise the negotiations with the client and the rights holders, and is keen to start the process as quickly as possible so that the deal is done. Indeed, beyond the budget and the scope of the rights, the main constraint of the clients is the urgency because the projects are often at the post-production stage and the delivery or broadcasting is generally done on a just-in-time basis. As a large part of Alter K's work is done in the American time zone, we can rely on our New York office to manage requests in real time and secure placements.
